Rules:

RoboBall is played by two competing Alliances on a flat field. Each Alliance consists of one robot. Teams compete to score as many basketballs into their hoops as they can during a 3-minute match. The higher the hoop in which the basketball is scored, the more points the Alliance receives.Competing teams should build a bot that will complete the following primary functions: 1. Navigate from home to ball pickup location
2. Ability to identify a 5.5” foam basketball
3. Ability to pickup a 5.5” foam basketball
4. Be able to transport basketball from ball pickup area to hoop area
5. Ability to identify basketball hoop
6. Be able to shoot/place/drop basketball in hoop
7. Navigate back to ball area and repeat procedure
8. Recognize lines/boundaries and stay within the specified perimeter

2 points –2.5ft Hoop

3 points –4ft Hoop

25 Pound Maximum

Initial Height: 26”

Initial Width: 22”

Initial Length: 30”

Upon match start, robots can use their extendable features to expand beyond the initial height requirements. There is no limit as to how high extensions may reach.
